I'm really feeling the domestic thing today. I got my bread maker, did some bargain shopping, got my supplies for homemade laundry soap, and made a delicious dinner!
Hubby picked up the bread maker today. Ten dollars - seems like a good deal to me. He cleaned it up for me and I headed out to get some yeast. I assume I have everything else I need, but I haven't actually looked at a recipe yet. We'll see how it goes but I can't wait to give it a try.
I had a bunch of coupons about to expire so I did some shopping and ended up saving $14 and paying $16. I'm feeling pretty good about a nearly 50% savings! It would have been even better but there were some things I didn't have coupons for and needed. I also made a quick stop at the dollar store to use up some expiring makeup coupons - makeup is way too expensive for me, but free makeup I can't pass up!
Did I mention that my main reason for the shopping trip was to pick up supplies for homemade laundry soap? Oh yeah - I've gotten that thrifty! I've been meaning to do this for a while and have had the Purex crystals since I had a coupon for them last month. Here's the recipe I'm following. I can't wait to give it a try!
Last, we had a pretty tasty dinner tonight! Wanna see? I'm no cook (hence the "explore" in Exploring Domesticity) so I take help where I can get it and get very happy when things work out. This was delicious and I made enough to freeze for another night when I'm stumped (which is most nights).
I'll share my makeup finds as well as my laundry soap and bread making progress soon!
