Teacher Appreciation

This is either going to sound totally awful or other's are going to understand and pretend it doesn't sound so awful...

I had this plan in my head for a teacher appreciation gift for my step-daughter's 3rd grade teacher. I had just gotten some individual Folgers packets for free with a $1 off coupon and I wanted to make a mug that said, "the best part of waking up is Mrs. Fosse's class."

I checked our dollar store for plain mugs and had no luck. My husband actually stopped at Michaels for me and bought the paint your own mug kit. It was so out of character for him to remember something like that and actually bring it home, I didn't have the heart to tell him that my vision included a nice clean mug written with Sharpie.

I wrote the first part of the phrase and left "Mrs. Fosse's Class" for my step daughter. When I went to check out the mug the next morning, this is what I found...

Is it awful that I am completely disappointed with this project?

Does anyone else have that bit of OCD in them that they feel a little crushed when something doesn't come out as planned? I know I'm probably supposed to say that any children's art is wonderful, and I suppose it is, but I'm a little bummed. This is not the adorable mug I had envisioned.

    1. Thanks! A little cleaner look is more my style, but I bet you're right and she'll like it! Thanks!

  2. Awww it's GREAT! The teacher will love that it's so personalized and she did it herself! That matters so much more than the "picture perfect" mug! Thanks for stopping by my blog!
