Hollow Log Lamp
First off, I have to apologize for the lack of posts lately. I have been spending the week at the cabin and have been terribly busy doing a little of this...
And a little of this...
Terrible isn't it?
I'm seriously sad to see the week come to an end, but this year I am a stay-at-home Momma and the good news it - we can do it again! We are so lucky!
Since I'm at the cabin, I thought I'd give a sneak peek of a project my dad has been working on. He was even kind enough to write up a tutorial for me. So, when I get the pictures, you will get the tutorial!
We have a fantastic screened porch, that I am enjoying right now - it's dark, slightly cool, and all I can hear are the lake waves lapping against the shore. Ahhhh...
Oh! Anyway. It used to have this generic light fixture.
My dad, being the master craftsman that he is, replaced it with this beauty.
Fantastic, isn't it? I love it because it has that cool look of the contemporary fixtures with the huge drum shades, but it totally fits the feel of our cabin, and it doesn't get anymore rustic.
The hollowed log looks fantastic from all angles.
I bet you can't wait to see how it was done. Me neither, really. :)
It even looks great now, lighting up the pitch black screened porch. So peaceful, with the sound of several loons calling to each other in the darkness...
Ok, that's it! I'm done making everyone jealous, I promise!
I adore this! Pinned.
ReplyDeletePretty please share this on a link party that I host with 4 other blogs called Moonlight & Mason Jars (live Monday at 5pm EST thru Sunday at midnight). We feature 5 blogs who link up every week.
