Happy Birthday Mom!
My Mom is a big Yahtzee fan. My entire childhood she begged me to play with her. It's not really my fav, so it became a running joke, "wanna play Yahtzee?" Anything but that!
I came across a Lawn Yahtzee game on Pinterest and the giant wooden dice looked like the coolest thing I had ever seen. I had grand ideas of making the huge wooden dice and a large chalk-board score board... After the way the rest of my gifts have been going this summer, I decided to simplify.
My track record this year with Pinterest-inspired gifts or my own grand ideas has been one fail after another! Image transfer to wood = fail. Stained handprint tool belt = fail. Homemade shrinky-dinks from #6 plastic = fail.
I had half the battle figured out months ago when I came across some over-sized foam dice at the dollar store. I think they came in packs of two... So I spent about three dollars, and got a group of orange ones.
I was still planning on creating an impressive wooden scoreboard with chalkboard paint. I think I asked both my husband and dad a few dozen times if they had the right sized piece of wood. Both assured me they did but, after a couple months of asking, we were nearing the deadline and I never got them to actually produce this board I was asking for... repeatedly...
I finally decided it would be a safe idea to pick up a large dry-erase board. It would be easy to return or reuse for another purpose if I did manage to complete the wooden scoreboard.
When I picked up two fun colors of Duct Tape for another project, I had an idea!
So, I give you The Duct Tape Decorated Over-Sized Yahtzee Game!
I know this would definitely be better with some help from a Silhouette - I picture beautiful vinyl lettering... A girl can dream... But it turned out alright.
Check out a sneak peak of the other projects I purchases the Duck Tape for!
Don't forget to check out this awesome t-shirt to support The Lupus Foundation of Minnesota! We could use tons of help and I'd love to help with a promotion swap with anyone who is willing to pass on the information!
Cute idea! My parents have a huge yard and this would be fun for summer evenings! Visiting from Shine on Friday!
