Non-scale victories and mi adidas

Hi all!  I have high points and low points this week.  I've still seen the scale go down (shock!) but it's been a struggle this week!

Before I get to that, let me show you what has been giving me way too many minutes of fun tonight.  I just learned about the adidas mi Firebird Custom Track Top.  You can customize it anyway you want, and I had so much fun making a few different versions.  Here's the winner...

Back to my not-so-hot-but-still-pretty-good week...  I've won my biggest DietBet payout yet and netted about $41 for the game that ended Monday!  Excited!  I have two more that end next week, and I've already joined the Jillian Michaels bet and started one.  If anyone has been thinking about it come join me!  I've racked up about $150 for losing weight!  Fantastic!

So, there is some good, and here is some not so good. Let's just say, there is one week a month that is harder than others...  I always think of that as a huge excuse but, let me tell you, I turn into a snack-food-crazed-monster before I am even aware of what time is upon me.  I have gone crazy a few too many times with my Halloween Crack - I can't control myself, so it will have to go into hiding well before Halloween.

I am really trying to stay strong on the snacking. My Lupus 5K is this weekend and I cannot have a repeat of my attempt at running after a week of junk. I have been slacking on the running lately, mostly because I hate running at home. There are no good routes and I can chose between the streets where people don't watch and I have to go around parked cars, or the bumpiest sidewalks ever. I got the kids out tonight and found a great route courtesy of a couple bills that are due tomorrow. I decided to run to the nearest mail box to mail some bills and it ended up being a really great 3 mike run! The path is right along a really busy road, so I've avoided it because I felt too on display. So what! I liked it and I'm going to do it again. I really focused on my breathing and it went so well. What a difference that makes! I can actually feel when my lungs finally fully inflate and the run actually felt easy at times.

I'm really excited for this Saturday! I'm still debating on whether or not to push the kiddos along with me. I'm leaning towards not taking them, just because the little one gets a little fussy at times... I'm also trying to figure out what to do about my ankles. I wrapped one for the first to e tonight and it felt great, but the other one hurt a little. Do I really go out with two wrapped ankles? There's gotta be a better way...

There may be some more non-scale victories in there but the running is my favorite. What do you have this week?

  2. That is so cool about the adias jacket! Halloween candy I think will be a common struggle. Last year I was talking to a lifetime member on weight watchers and her major weakness is halloween candy and she says that every year she puts aside her extra points in pre-packaged halloween candy. Then she doesn't feel deprived! I know I'm stealing her idea this year!

  3. Great idea of adding candy corn with peanuts. Breakfast for us is a mix of nuts and some m&ms tossed in for sweetness. Adding candy corn would be a good seasonal change in the routine.
