Biggest Loser Finale: On our Way! {Part 1}

I wrote up a bit about my excitement during the plane ride to LA. I never got a chance to post it because the hotel down't have free Internet - what??? I kind of love my excitement, so I'm not going to delete it and I will add a bit about our second day at the end. Stay tuned for my thoughts on the whole finale!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't believe I will be in LA in a matter if hours, and on my way to the Biggest Loser Finale this time tomorrow!

I'm writing from my comfy middle seat in a packed plane to LA, munching on my pretzels and sipping the last of my Diet Coke. The Butler is on the tv screen, and my $2 earbuds are killing my ears.

This. Is. Exciting!

This whole experience is already a dream! I can't wait to see what we have in store!

As promised, I share what I know of our itinerary and my preparations for this amazing trip!

Monday
11:30 flight from Minneapolis
1:30pm arrive in LA and meet a car which will take us to our hotel
5:30pm cocktails and reception with the awesome Planet Fitness people who made this possible

Tuesday
9:30-11:45am guided, private tour of LA
2pm leave for Biggest Loser
6pm Live Show

Wednesday
12pm transportation to the airport and flight home

Looks like we have a pretty packed schedule, but plenty if time for ourselves too. Have I mentioned, I can't believe this is happening!!!

Ok, so my commitment to lose 10lbs by the 14th is going to be a little difficult... The hardest part about vacations is planning meals and snacks without just grabbing anything in a time-crunch. So, I'm going on this vacation prepared! I have a backpack full of snacks packed under the seat in front of me. We're talking apples, oranges, string cheese, protein bars, and almonds (and a co trainer a perfect 1/4 cup serving size). I also packed some less healthy options to keep my husband from going on a spending spree anytime he has a free moment to eat!

One of the hardest parts of this trip for me was planning what to wear. Any of you less than happy with your size can relate. Also, anyone between sizes can relate to not wanting to spend money when you hope to only wear a size a short time. I had a great dress to wear. Seriously, great, but my desire to be comfortable while seated and my pasty, Minnesota-winter-white legs convinced me to leave it home. Instead, I came up with the options shown... I'm a little unsure about my finale outfit, but I know I'll be comfortable.

Ok, I think I've babbled enough. Be sure to check out Instagram and Twitter for updates!!

Oh my goodness! We were in store for quite a few surprises after this point!

Following our limo ride with champagne to our gorgeous hotel, we were greeted with so many amazing things from planet fitness! I can't even list everything in our amazing gift basket! I will say that we got some amazing Planet Fitness swag (water bottle, hat, bag, socks, mugs, etc...) and lots of fun snacks! We were so completely touched by their generosity!

That first night we had a cocktail reception to meet all the amazing people that made our trip possible, along with the other winners. I had such a blast! Each and every person we met was so sweet and we had such a great time getting to know them!

The surprises weren't over! We returned to our room to find Dolvett's Book The 3-1-2-1 Diet for each of us, as well as New Balance shoes! My husband even said he may have to take up running!

In the morning we all met up again for a private bus tour of Hollywood. We saw everything you would want to see and it was such a great part of the trip!

After nearly three hours of seeing all sorts of sights, we returned to our hotel room to get ready for the big night!

Biggest Loser Finale {Part 2} will be coming soon! What did you think of the show? ;)

  4. I've always wanted to say this, but never had the chance to because I didn't really know anyone who actually did this! Congratulations! You are awesome! Anyone who can take on a challenge like this and succeed to reach their goals deserves to know how awesome they are and what a great personal achievement this was for them. Even if you are still working toward goals, you should be proud of what you have accomplished so far! I am truly happy for you!

  6. Sounds like an AWESOME trip! I'm a Minneapolis area blogger, too, and would really love a dose of that warm Cali sun these days! I watched the finale & thought our Mn Girl was too thin, but saw on KARE 11 that she was doing 3 back to back spin classes every day at the Lifetime Fitness in Woodbury, plus boot camp style classes. I'd totally do the same for $250k but hopefully she gains a little back now that the show is over.
