I HAVE to share!!! How lucky are my children!?! This is my old playhouse that my parents re-vamped for my kids. It was designed by my mom and constructed (everything handmade!) by my dad.
Let's start with the kitchen. It is amazing! The fridge, oven, microwave, and sink/dishwasher are each four separate pieces. They were made out of a recycled entertainment center, bifold doors, and other recycled materials.
Oops blurry picture! The playhouse is in a nice shady area so there wasn't a ton of light. I have to show the inside of the appliances, though! The dishwasher has buttons to push on the outside and baskets to pull out on the inside. They also have a real sink and lots of storage underneath, behind the old entertainment center doors that were cut down.
The oven opens as well and there is already a mess of pans inside. Both the oven and dishwasher have straps to stop them from opening all the way because my 2-year-old was crawling on top of them right from the start!
This is genius! The burners are from the bottoms of cans! There are also some salvaged knobs for them to twist and turn.
The refrigerator is great! The frame is made from recycled pieces of an old entertain, net center and the doors are from old bifold doors.
I love the water dispenser! It is made from an old baby wipe container! How smart! It also has lever for the water and it can be pushed in...
...or it can stay out.
Let's move on to the little workshop. My 2-year-old might end up a master craftsman like his grandpa if he starts out this early!
He has plenty of cabinet, drawer, and hanging space for tools.
He even has his own drill press! He can spin the piece on the side and move the red button on the front.
He has a clamp...
...that can go in and out.
Aren't these just the luckiest kids ever!?!
I wish I would have grabbed a shot after we added some more of the toys - we hung an apron in the kitchen and another in the workshop and added a couple more touches. My husband did the floor and still needs to add an orange base. Grandpa is building a miter saw, and a table with storage to place under this window.
I'm so excited for how it has turned out and can't wait to see the finished product! You'll probably find me at these fantastic parties!
Amazing! That's nicer than my real kitchen.. haha!

ReplyDeleteThat workbench is quite possibly the most amazing thing ever!!! And I love that kitchen! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI especially love the water dispenser in the fridge door. How did you make it with the working lever that pushes in and out? I would love to do something like that, but not sure how to make it work. Cute kitchen and workbench.
